The Equipment both you and your Client will Need

We recommend that you stick to 12oz boxing gloves. You can offer 14oz if you like as an option.

Some times people pick the MMA style gloves, which aren't really ideal for beginners, as they tend to catch their knuckles if they don't punch correctly.

Do NOT let them punch with out gloves, you will soon be cleaning blood off.

Up sell inner gloves and hand wraps. Great for hygiene of the gloves. Encourage clients not to keep their gloves in a bag and allow them to dry out. Our clients often replace gloves as they use them so much throughout the class.

Buying in bulk wholesale of say 100 then you could get them for £7-9 per glove. Don't go too cheap, perceived value is so important when you give them their gloves.

When our members take a trial they are given a pair of gloves to keep. Generally we offer a 3 class trial for £19.99 and include a free pair of boxing gloves worth £29.99. You do a few things with this trial. You get serious leads, you don't need to keep replacing a bag of stinky gloves, which no one will want to wear.... Yeah it might push an up sell... But they have that disgusting smell on their hands which is not a good memory. You can discount the paid trial for slow months and specials. Effectively you are really offering a free trial, as the payment covers the glove cost and a little of the marketing it took to get that client.

When we went from free trial to paid, we lost zero amount of leads and sign ups... They became much more qualified!

I recommend investing in a Wavemaster free standing bag as they are much more heavy duty and lasting. If you are on a budget then try blitz sport.

I've seen a new design by century, which look nice. But look like they will fall if you look at them.... Speaking to a few who have used them, seems i was right... You can always contact us if you are unsure or would like any guidance [email protected] , its important to us that you feel comfortable and succeed.

Matting: I'm not a fan of jigsaw matting... I'm a bit fussy, doesn't always look very nice to the eye and i was always concerned that they can shift out of place. We invested heavily with our matting. For fitness it doesn't need to be that thick.

The class is best done in bare foot.

Some clients prefer to wear socks, we remind them that they are more likely to slip on the mat with socks on.

Hope this helps.
